Chiang Mai Attractions

There are many temples in Chiang Mai,Thai. Each of the temple in Chiang Mai has something unique to offer. A certain must-see attraction for guests is Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, probably Chiang Mai's  most renowned landmark. This temple was built, on a mountain around 1073m above sea level  in 1383.  In the center of a marble-tiled courtyard stands a gold-plated chedi, adorned with parasols, which houses holy Buddha relics. Other popular temples are such as Wat Chiang Man, which was built by King Mengrai in 1296 and features a chedi constructed in the Lanna style supported by elephant-shaped buttresses.It’s one of the most vital historic sites in Chiang Mai and although not as photogenic as other temples.

Chiang Mai is also popular of musuems. Guest may visit some of the several museums conserving Chiang Mai's cultural heritage, such as Chiang Mai Cultural Centre, in the Mueang district, has an excellent collection of Lanna art; the Tribal Museum in the Mae Rim District, which popular of artistic objects conveying the culture, beliefs and way of life of the nine local indigenous hill tribes; and the Chiang Mai National Museum is wellknown of its preservation of the art and culture of Chiang Mai and upper northern Thailand and the Lanna Kingdom, and was built in the traditional Lanna style.
